The Amsterdam Concertgebouw is traditionally one of the most important stages in Holland for symphonical music. It is regarded one of the best auditoriums in the world because of its superior acoustics.
The Concertgebouw contains 3 rooms, the Grote Zaal, The Spiegelzaal and the Kleine Zaal. Every room has its own style and acoustics. For example the Spiegelzaal is especially used for broadcasting programs whereas the intimate character of the Kleine Zaal is particularly suitable for chamber music and singing. Annually 800 concerts are given and 850.000 people pass the entrance.
The extensive and varied program has been set up to please everybody, young and old.
Next to listening to music you can take a guided tour. For example, preceding the Zondagochtend Concert there is a tour which brings you to special places in this historical building. The tour starts at 9.30 hr. and is only possible in combination with the Zondagochtend Concert. In July and August various conducted tours are held during the evening.
